Do not schedule installation yet.Wait until verification is finished and you have received and inspected the complete kit.

Step 2: Decide If DIY Is Right for You

PPF is normally installed by trained professionals. A precut kit reduces trimming, but correct cleaning, alignment, stretching, squeegeeing, edge work, and heat are still required.

Installed or damaged film cannot be returned to new condition. If you are not comfortable using adhesive film, installation chemicals, or a heat gun, hire an experienced PPF installer.
  • Read the instructions for your exact film.
  • Watch complete panel installations, not only short clips.
  • Practice on a small, simple piece first.
  • Use a helper for a hood, bumper, or other large panel.
  • If unsure, stop and email us before damaging the film.

Step 3: Gather Your Tools

The customer or installer must provide all tools and supplies.

  • Clean spray bottles
  • Filtered or distilled water
  • Slip-solution ingredients
  • Tack-solution ingredients
  • Clean microfiber towels
  • PPF squeegee
  • Clay bar or clay media
  • Paint-safe cleaner
  • Nitrile gloves
  • Adjustable heat gun
  • Infrared thermometer
  • Bright inspection light
  • Safe step stool if needed
  • Clean indoor work area
Do not guess solution ratios or heat temperatures.Follow the instructions for your exact film. Too much soap, alcohol, heat, or stretching can damage the film or cause lifting.

Step 4: Install the Kit

  1. Inspect every piece

Match each piece to the approved coverage list before removing any liner.

  2. Prepare the workspace

Work indoors, away from sun, wind, dust, and insects. Do not install when the vehicle or room is very hot or cold.

  3. Clean the vehicle completely

Remove bugs, tar, wax, grease, and stuck-on dirt. Clean all panel gaps and edges. Ceramic coating may prevent the film from sticking.

  4. Mix fresh solutions

Use separate bottles labeled SLIP and TACK. Follow the directions for your exact film.

  5. Position the film

Check its direction before removing the liner. Wet the panel and adhesive as directed, then line up corners, openings, cameras, badges, and body lines.

  6. Anchor and squeegee

Set the main anchor points. Use overlapping strokes to push solution toward an open edge. Keep the surface wet and do not over-stretch.

  7. Finish the edges

Remove slip solution and dry each edge before pressing it down or wrapping it. Never trap dirt or moisture under an edge.

  8. Post-heat and inspect

Post-heat stretched areas, corners, and edges at the required temperature. Use an infrared thermometer. Check for lifting, fingers, dirt, or trapped moisture.

Avoid using blades on the vehicle.Your kit is already precut. Cutting on painted panels can permanently damage the paint. Let a trained installer handle any needed changes.

Step 5: Let the Film Dry

1First 8 HoursPark indoors or in shade. Avoid driving if possible. Do not press, lift, or pick at the edges.
2First 48-72 HoursKeep the film dry. Do not wash the vehicle. Avoid rain, frost, extreme heat, and high-pressure air when possible.
3Following WeeksSmall moisture or hazy areas may change as the film dries. Full settling time depends on weather and installation conditions.
Do not place a freshly installed wet kit in strong sun to "bake it dry."Let it begin drying indoors or in shade. Strong, uneven heat can cause problems around wet areas and edges.
  • Wait 48-72 hours before washing.
  • Do not use an automatic car wash during the initial cure.
  • Never aim a pressure washer at film edges.
  • Do not puncture bubbles with a needle or blade.
  • Do not peel back a dirty or lifting edge.
  • Inspect all edges in good light after 24-48 hours.
